In my usual circles of socialization, being different, weird, crazy, abnormal, quirky, unique, not-like-others is celebrated, a source of pride.
So to have it thrown in my face as if it were an insult gave me pause.
Umm...yeah, I'm not like everyone else. I do my own research. I listen to my gut. I believe there is more to this universe than science alone can explore. I believe that natural and sacred are synonyms.
And I'm not the only one.
Yeah, there's no one exactly like me...but there are millions of people passionate about plant-based eating, conscious parenting, singing karaoke, spiritual healing, witchy wonders, creative writing, incredible vaginas, and living in the moment - millions of people who live in their own bubbles, which complement, inspire, and light up mine.
I'm not the only one who drinks in the sunset or bathes in moonlight.
I'm not the only one who runs away from invisible dinosaurs hand in hand with her toddler.
I'm not the only one who thinks nakedness is next to holiness, or that empathy heals what criticism hurts.
Thank Goodness!

(I bet I'm not the only one who bursts into song every time a phrase reminds me of lyrics, either. ;)
