About ReikiWhat is Reiki? Rei = Universal/Spiritual/Soul Ki = Vital Force, or Energy of Life At the first level, Reiki is what happens when healers allow spiritual life force energy to enter their major chakras and exit through their hand chakras, directing it into a receptive life form or healing tool. Words for Ki from ancient cultures around the world include Mana, Prana, Orenda, Ch’i, Qi, and many others. Examples of hands-on healing can be found in pretty much every culture and every major religion in the world, including Christianity and Buddhism. Reiki is not a religion and does not conflict with any religious teachings – it is simply allowing the energy of God or Creator or Source (or whatever term feels comfortable to you) to flow through you, healing both you and others. Reiki is scientifically observable, and is practiced by doctors, nurses, therapists, massage therapists, and many other professionals all over the world. Until the 1970s, Reiki was kept secret and expensive. There were far fewer Reiki Masters, as the master level class often cost thousands of dollars. Many Reiki Masters, including me, believe that Reiki should be accessible and affordable to anyone who wishes to learn it. There are many forms of Reiki nowadays, and every Master, or teacher, has their own way of teaching. I teach Traditional Usui Reiki with my own additions in accordance with what I find practical and useful. Click on the button below to enroll. |
About This ClassThis is the online version of a class I have taught in person since 2011. There are many benefits to this format. For one, you can access the videos any time to refresh yourself on the content of the class. I have spent hours tweaking each video and section of the notes, doing my best to make sure you get the most out of them. I can add to the materials with each question that is emailed to me, and you will be emailed any bonus videos created later on, even if they are years from now, because once you take Reiki with me, you are always welcome to audit my classes in the future at no charge.
This class includes 17 videos, which add up to 129 minutes total video instruction time. The longest videos are only 12 minutes long, allowing you to take the class in your spare time. You can also take it all in a single afternoon. Also included is a 21 page .pdf e-book, with illustrations, notes to read after each video, and review questions on the last page to help with comprehension and long-term retention. Speaking of comprehension and long-term retention, most of the videos include questions for you to answer aloud or in writing, as explained in the introduction video. You have to option of typing these responses up and emailing them to me - I love to hear from you and will respond promptly. When you register for this class, we will schedule your attunement, which I will perform much like you will learn to perform distance healing in the Reiki II class, should you choose to take it as well. During your attunement, I request that you sit in meditation for the 10-15 minutes it takes to perform. Before I send your Reiki I certificate, I require an exit interview, which we can do by phone, Skype, Google Hangouts, or FaceTime. During this interview I will confirm your mailing address, your name as you want it to appear on your certificate, and have an informal conversation with you about how the class went for you, answering any questions you have, and making sure you understand the most important bits. If you have any questions about this class, do please email me at [email protected] with "Reiki I" in the subject line. |
